Workplace Charging Scheme
Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based scheme designed to provide eligible applicants with support towards the upfront costs of the purchase and installation of EV charge points. The contribution is limited to £300 for each socket up to a maximum of 20 across all sites for each application. At General Electrical we handle the design, installation, testing, certification of your charge points.
Applicants will apply to the scheme administrator (Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency – DVLA) by completing and emailing the PDF application form found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/governmentgrants-for-low-emission-vehicles. If eligibility checks are successful, applicants will be issued with a unique identification voucher code via email, which can then be given to any OLEV-authorised WCS installer (which we are).

The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) is a cross government, industry-endorsed, team combining policy and funding streams to simplify policy development and delivery for ultra low emission vehicles. OLEV currently comprises people and funding from the Departments for Transport (DfT), Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), and Energy and Climate Change (DECC). The core purpose is to support the early market for electric and other ultra low emission vehicles (ULEVs). OLEV is based in DfT and this document is published by The Department for Transport.
